Old Bill's 2010 has officially begun! 

Old Bills is a great way to donate any amount to the homeless animals at the Center.  A percentage of donations made to the Animal Adoption Center through this link, oldbills.org, will be matched by the JH Community Foundation as long as we raise $25,000!  Every dollar you give goes straight to the Center.  Make your donation between now and Sept. 17, 2010 to participate in this great event. 

Have you ever considered fostering a dog? Our dogs love going home each evening with people in the our community.  We are always looking for new foster parents.  It's a great way to find out more about a dog you are interested in adopting or can also just be a rewarding thing to do for a homeless pet.  We appreciate our walkers and volunteers so so much but want to reach out and let you know that our dogs are still looking for a nice home to rest their heads. UPDATES FROM RUBY! 

Look how far she's come!

Ruby has found her forever home, finally!  This girl has been through so much in her young life.  At 1 year old, she was neglected with her puppies in the freezing cold with a broken hip.  After arriving at the Center, she had surgery on her hip and was recovering in a foster home while her puppies were all being adopted into wonderful homes through the Center.  Recently, a family saw Ruby struttin' her stuff down the streets of Jackson.  They fell in love.  Two days later she was on a plane to the East Coast! Ruby's most recent update from her adopters is, "I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that Ruby is doing fantastic in her forever home with us here in Baltimore.  She fits in perfectly and is even more well behaved than her big chocolate lab brother, Bruno!!  She has managed to convince him to share most of his toys with her and she is starting to get her own collection as well.  I hope to email you some pictures of this happy girl in a few days.  Thank you for letting her join our family."

"Ruby is doing fantastic.  She really enjoys romping with Bruno and searching the yard for rabbits and birds.  She is wonderful with the baby.  She even went for a jog with me and Bruno this morning.  We can’t figure out why she wasn’t adopted.  Tell everyone in Wyoming and Idaho that they’ve really lost out on a fabulous girl.  She’s here in Maryland to stay!!"
